Al-Quds University’s Deanship of Scientific Research, in partnership with Al-Quds Bard College of Arts and Sciences (AQB), successfully hosted the 8th Palestinian Undergraduate Research Conference, bringing together undergraduate students and recent graduates from Palestinian, regional, and international universities for two days of virtual and in-person sessions at the university’s main campus. This year’s conference featured 94 selected research projects from 180 submissions, representing seven Palestinian universities—including participants from Gaza, as well as students from Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. The conference continues to serve as a vital platform for fostering a culture of undergraduate research, innovation, and academic excellence in Palestine and beyond.
AQB was proudly represented by 10 students presenting their Senior Projects, showcasing research across the sciences, humanities, and social sciences. We are especially proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Gabi Kharoufeh, Bushra Mahmoud, Sima Alnamoora, and Maya Musleh, who were recognized among the conference’s top student presenters. Reflecting on the significance of the event, Dr. Amneh Badran, Acting Dean of AQB, stated: “This conference demonstrates the power of undergraduate research as a transformative educational experience, one that equips students to become thoughtful scholars, active citizens, and contributors to the future of Palestine.”
In his opening remarks, Al-Quds University President Dr. Dr. Hana Abed Al-Noor emphasized the broader significance of student research, noting: “At a time of immense challenges, our students’ commitment to research reflects resilience, strategic thinking, and hope. Through knowledge production and innovation, they affirm Palestine’s ability to contribute meaningfully to global development and human progress.” In addition, the Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Elham Kateeb stated, “the Undergraduate Research Conference reflects our commitment to nurturing students as active producers of knowledge."
It states that the conference is being held for the eighth consecutive year, jointly organized by the Deanship of Scientific Research and Al-Quds Bard College, and it serves as a vital platform for promoting a culture of scientific research and innovation among undergraduate students.
