Education Above All-Qatar Scholarship Program

The Qatar Scholarship program at Al Quds Bard College is the result of an agreement signed between the Education Above All Foundation (Doha, Qatar) and Bard College (New York, USA). Through this program that launched in Spring 2021, AQB will award 339 scholarships to marginalized Palestinians to pursue their undergraduate and graduate degrees at AQB.

Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) is a public development institution committed to implementing external aid projects. Its main goal is to achieve inclusive and sustainable development by addressing priority issues of education, health and economic empowerment.

Education Above All (EAA) is a foundation founded in 2012 by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser. Its aim is to contribute to human, social and economic development through the provision of quality education. With a particular focus on those affected by poverty, conflict and disaster, it champions the needs of children, youth and women to empower them to become active members of their communities.

Al Fakhoora was established in 2009 as a response to the conflict in Gaza that destroyed numerous schools and universities, Al Fakhoora launched its first projects, a diverse set of initiatives ranging from emergency medical assistance, rebuilding institutes of higher learning damaged in the war, providing psycho-social support for children and youth, establishing vocational programs for students with disabilities, and awarding comprehensive scholarships for marginalized youth. Directly touching the lives of over 300,000 children and youth, as well as impacting the infrastructure at every level, Al Fakhoora has grown to become a comprehensive and vital support system for education in Gaza.

The program awards scholarships at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree levels. For BA students, a scholarship with a minimum of 85% is available to cover four full years of studies, while for MAT students, scholarships of up to 90% are available for two full years of MAT study at AQB.
