AQB CS Graduate Achieves Outstanding Academic Success at Dublin City University

Al-Quds Bard College proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of its Computer Science alumnus Elias Amro, a member of the 2022 Computer Science cohort, who recently graduated top of his class in the MSc in Electronic and Computer Technology at Dublin City University.

During his time at AQB, Elias distinguished himself as an outstanding Computer Science student, recognized for both his academic excellence and innovative mindset. Following his graduation, he started working at AQB for two years as the Dean’s Fellow, where he played an impactful role in supporting our students on different levels, especially those applying for international exchange programs. Moreover, he had a major role in advancing the college’s technical systems through developing multiple automatic tools and internal processes that enabled our academic and administrative teams to work faster and more efficiently.

Building on the strong academic, professional, and civic foundations he developed at AQB, Elias continued his journey of innovation at Dublin City University, where he developed in his final project a sustainability-driven web platform, which is an AI-powered application that enables students to easily buy and sell secondhand goods. Now, he works on marketing this platform, The Student Outlet, which has the potential to prevent over 700 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually. Together, these projects highlight Elias’ ability to transform technology into practical solutions with measurable environmental and social impact.

Elias’s journey reflects the civic engagement values AQB seeks to instill in its students: academic excellence, leadership, innovation, and the drive to create meaningful change. We are more than proud to see one of our graduates making an impact and achieving success on an international stage.
