AQB Students are Part of the International Jury at the Doha Film Festival- Qatar

Doha - Qatar| Al-Quds Bard College (AQB) is proud to share that two of its students, Shahd Abu Laban and Grace Awad, who are also Education Above All (EAA) Scholars have participated in the Doha Film Festival. They served as members of an international jury from 21–28 November, with the support of the EAA, representing AQB and young Palestinian creatives in one of the region’s most important cultural events.

As part of their jury work, they watched five feature documentary films and about eleven short films, engaging with a wide range of stories and filmmaking styles. Throughout the week, they attended sessions with distinguished directors and actors, and took part in workshops designed to strengthen their skills in film analysis, criticism, and production.

Their experience went beyond viewing films. They spent time in conversations with industry professionals, discussed storytelling approaches, and learned more about how film can be used to document reality, raise questions, and connect communities.

At the end of the festival, Shahid and Grace fulfilled their role as jurors by voting for the best feature documentary and the best short film among the selections they evaluated.

AQB congratulates its community in general and the Humanities and Practicing Arts Division in particular on this achievement and celebrates their contribution to amplifying Palestinian perspectives in international events.
