Al-Quds Bard College’s Participation in the 3rd Annual Palestine Forum at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies

As part of the ongoing Al-Quds Bard College (AQB)-Education Above All (EAA) partnership, a delegation of six AQB students, led by Dr. Amneh Badran and Dr. Sobhi Samour, attended the ‘3rd Annual Palestine Forum’ organized by the Doha Institute from January 25th to 27th. The forum provided a unique platform for students to engage with Palestinian, Arab, and international researchers, exchanging ideas on topics such as the social and economic conditions under occupation, settler colonialism, Palestinian resistance, and the global perspective on Palestine.
The current situation in Gaza was a central focus of the discussions, with numerous presentations addressing its cultural and social history, as well as the ongoing challenges of reconstruction and rebuilding the education system. The forum also provided an opportunity for the AQB delegation to meet with scholars from Gaza and around the world, which helped the students get exposed to diverse perspectives on the Palestinian cause.
In addition to the forum, the delegation visited Georgetown University, Northwestern University, and the Doha Institute, where they discussed opportunities for academic exchanges, joint research initiatives, and faculty cooperation. Also, at Georgetown University, AQB exchange students participated in a talk on education in Palestine, moderated by Palestinian human rights lawyer Professor Diana Buttu.
The meetings with these academic institutions highlighted the importance of collaborating together on student exchanges, creating new academic programs, and strengthening partnerships for the future.
