Three AQB students were selected by the Open Society University Network (OSUN) to participate in the annual ‘Get Engaged Conference for Student Action and Youth Leadership’ in Berlin in the Summer of 2024 to present their civic engagement initiatives to an international audience, to build relevant strategic and teamwork skills, and network with a group of over 60 student organizers from around the world.
Ala’a Abhari, Martinios Abdo, and Mustafa Hawwash respectively presented their work over the past year raising awareness among school students of slow-environmental violence in the West Bank, creating a podcast to bring together university students from different backgrounds, and developing a project to bridge theoretical knowledge and practical diplomatic skills for AQB student ambassadors representing the College at local high schools throughout Palestine.
The three scholars thereby became eligible for fellowships with the OSUN network and for funding to continue to expand their projects.
