مقدمة عن البرنامج:
إن فكرة برنامج البكالوريوس في الدراسات الدولية والدبلوماسية "الجديد" لدى كلية القدس بارد يركز في محتواه على دمج الممارسة بالنظرية. ويأتي البرنامج كاستجابة لحاجة رصدها الخبراء، والباحثون، والممارسون في مجال الدبلوماسية والعلاقات الدولية محلياً ودولياً، بأن هنالك ضرورة لوجود كادر فلسطيني دبلوماسي يمتلك المؤهلات والسمات من معرفة ومهارات لتناول القضية الفلسطينية في الحوارات العالمية مع الهيئات المتعددة الأطراف أو الإقليمية.
كجزء من خطة البرنامج ، سيقوم الطلبة بدراسة مساقات أساسية تعكس في نهجها الترابط مع تخصصات. مساقات البرنامج تشمل تطور الدبلوماسية ، والقانون الدولي العام والدبلوماسية ، والاقتصاد السياسي والعولمة ، والصراع العربي الإسرائيلي . وعند التعمق في التخصص، يحصل الطلبة على فرصة أخذ مساقات أخرى متقدمة تتقاطع بطرحها مع تخصصات مثل العلوم السياسية والاقتصاد وحقوق الانسان والقانون الدولي. تنسج هذه المساقات معا خيوطاً فكرية من مختلف التخصصات وتطبقها على مواضيع ومواقف محددة. وتتيح مجموعة مرنة من المساقات الاختيارية للطلبة التوسع في معرفتهم وتطوير مهارات من شأنها أن تزيد من رصيد حصولهم على فرص عمل أو استكمال الدراسة للدرجات العليا لاحقا.
يختتم الطلبة البرنامج بانجاز مشروع تخرج، يعملون عليه لمدة عام (فصلين) يتطلب بحثاً وكتابةً وتحليلاً مكثفاً، ويعتمدون فيه على جميع الأدوات والمهارات التي اكتسبوها خلال دراستهم الجامعية.
يركز برنامج الدراسات الدولية والدبلوماسية على تأسيس مهارات الكتابة والبحث والتحليل كما يوفر فرصا كبيرة للطلاب لاكتساب مهارات نوعية قيمة مثل مهارات الخطابة، والمناظرة، والتي ستكون ذات قيمة كبيرة لهم في مجال البحث عن عمل. من الجدير بالذكر بأن فرص دراسة فصل دراسي واحد في الخارج متاحة أيضاً. وعلاوة على ذلك، فإن الدراسات الدولية والدبلوماسية تسهم في اعداد الخريجين الذين يرغبون في متابعة دراستهم على مستوى الماجستير والدكتوراه.
متطلبات القبول في برنامج الدراسات الدولية والدبلوماسية:

شهادة الثانوية العامة بمعدل 80% فما فوق، أو ما يعادلها في (IB ،GCE ،GCSE CLEP والبجروت….). هنالك امكانية لقبول طلبة بمعدل 72% - 79.9% في حال اجتياز مقابلة القبول.

يفضل إجادة مهارات اللغة الإنجليزية مثل (القدرة على الكتابة، والقراءة، والمحادثة، والاستيعاب).

للطلبة الذين تشكل اللغة الانجليزية حاجزاً للالتحاق في هذا البرنامج، فأن الكلية تتيح فرصة الالتحاق في البرنامج بعد استكمال سنة تحضيرة في اللغة الانجليزية من خلال برنامج الأكاديمية. أو من خلال مسار البوابة (Pylon) والذي يعد الطلبة بالمهارات اللغوية الانجليزية اللازمة للدراسة في الكلية من خلال أخذ مساقات لغة انجليزية مكثفة بجانب مساقات التخصص ومتطلبات الكلية.
مخرجات التعلم المقصودة للبرنامج:
يهدف البرنامج إلى تقديم منهج أكاديمي مفصل ومبتكر يأخذ في الاعتبار العديد من المخرجات. ستتمحور الاساليب التربوية- التعليمية المستخدمة في البرنامج حول الطالب، سيكون المنهاج شامل وتفاعلي ومتعددة التخصصات يتطلب مشاركة واندماج مستمر من جانب الطالب. عند استكمال البرنامج بنجاح، سيكون الخريج قادراً على:
أ. المعرفة والفهم:

تحديد المعرفة التأسيسية في العديد من التخصصات (العلوم السياسية والاقتصاد والعلاقات الدولية والقانون الدولي العام وحقوق الإنسان) والتي تمكن من الانخراط في مناهج متعددة التخصصات للدراسات العالمية والدبلوماسية

التعرف على أسس التاريخ والسياسة والرواية الفلسطينية

التعرف على كيفية ارتباط التخصصات الفرعية المختلفة ببعضها البعض ، واكتساب مهارات التفكير النقدي واستخدامها في المعرفة وإنتاجها عبر الربط بين تخصصات

إدراك أدوار الدبلوماسية وأهميتها في الشؤون الدولية والعالمية
-
فهم البروتوكول الدبلوماسي وكيفية استخدامه
ب. المهارات الفكرية:

معالجة القضايا الدولية والدبلوماسية من خلال نهج متعدد التخصصات

مناقشة القضايا الدولية والقرارات السياسية التي تشمل المصالح متعددة الأطراف على المستويين الإقليمي والدولي

تطوير أسئلة معقدة وإجابات مبتكرة
ج. المهنية (المهارات العملية):

تطبيق الجوانب النظرية في العلوم الاجتماعية على مشاكل/قضايا العالم الحقيقية

ممارسة المهارات السياسية والدبلوماسية المستنيرة بنهج الدراسات الدولية في التواصل والمفاوضات الشفوية والمكتوبة

كتابة الوثائق الدبلوماسية والبيانات.

تصميم وإجراء وتحليل البحوث في مجال العلوم الاجتماعية

الأهداف العامة للبرنامج هي كما يلي:

تقديم برنامج جامعي متعدد التخصصات ومركز في الدراسات الدولية والدبلوماسية ، من خلال مراعاة خصوصية السياق الفلسطيني، والجمع بين النظرية والممارسة

تقديم برنامج جامعي في الدراسات الدولية والدبلوماسية ذو قدرة على الاستجابة للتحديات العالمية الحالية والمستقبلية وإعداد صناع قرار للمستقبل للعمل في الشؤون الدولية والدبلوماسية
الأهداف المحددة للبرنامج هي كما يلي:

تثقيف وتدريب قادة المستقبل الفلسطينيين وصناع القرار في مجال الشؤون الدولية والدبلوماسية

إنشاء كادر من المهنيين الشباب، الممارسين والباحثين على حد سواء، القادرين على التفاعل باسلوب خلاق وفعال بالقضايا الدولية وربطها بفلسطين ومقاربات السياسة الخارجية الفلسطينية
-
إنشاء كادر قوي من المهنيين والباحثين الذين سيكونون قادرين على المنافسة في المؤسسات الحكومية ومختلف المنظمات الدولية والإقليمية والمنظمات غير الحكومية المحلية والدولية.
مجالات العمل بعد التخرج:
أشارت دراسة الجدوى التي أجريناها إلى وجود طلب عالٍ على وظائف مرموقة للخريجين من برامج ذات صلة في القطاعات العامة والخاصة وغير الربحية، من الامثل على هذا المناصب والمراكز التي يمكن ان يعمل بها خريج تخصص الدراسات الدولية والدبلوماسية:

دبلوماسي الرسمي (ملحق/ مساعد/ او سكرتير دبلوماسي)
-
دبلوماسي عام (مسؤولو العلاقات العامة والمناصرة في المنظمات غير الحكومية الوطنية والدولية)
-
ومساعد باحث (المؤسسات الأكاديمية المحلية والدولية)
-
ومسؤول الاتصال والتواصل (العامة والخاصة ومنظمات المجتمع المدني)، وغيرها من المناصب ذات الألقاب المماثلة. وكما أخبرتنا، وكيل وزارة الخارجية والمغتربين الفلسطينية، الدكتورة أمل جادو، "سيكون خريجو الدراسات الدولية والدبلوماسية مرشحين أقوياء للوظائف في العديد من الوزارات الحكومية، وكذلك في المنظمات متعددة الجنسيات التي لها فروع في فلسطين والخارج".
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The idea for this newly established program on “Global Affairs and Diplomacy” is to contain a focused curriculum that combines theory with practice. It is designed to meet a need detected by experts and practitioners in Palestine and beyond. There is a need for a Palestinian diplomatic cadre that has the qualifications, knowledge, and skills to engage the Palestinian question in global conversations with multilateral or regional bodies.
As part of the program's plan students will study core courses that reflect its inter-disciplinary approach such as: Evolution of Diplomacy, Public International Law and Diplomacy, Political Economy of Globalization, and Arab – Israeli Conflict…. As students’ progress in the major, they enter more courses that take an interdisciplinary approach. These courses weave together strands of thought from various disciplines and apply them to specific themes and situations. A flexible set of elective courses allows students to bring their knowledge to bear on a wide variety of topics.
Students conclude the program with a year-long senior project which requires extensive research and analysis, drawing on all of the tools acquired during their undergraduate careers.
The Global Studies and Diplomacy program includes a strong foundation in writing, research and analysis, and it also provides significant opportunities for students to acquire valuable qualitative skills, which will be of great value to them in the marketplace. It is important to note that opportunities to study one semester abroad are available. Also, the Global Studies and Diplomacy program will be excellent preparation for graduates who wish to pursue their studies at the MA and PhD levels.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Tawjihi certificate with 80% GPA and above, or its equivalent (CLEP, IB, GCE, GCSE, IGCSE, Bagrut…). Exceptions might be given to students with an average between 72% - 79% depending on performance in an admission interview.
English Language Competency is preferred, i.e., writing, comprehension, and conversation.
For those whose English language skills are a barrier for matriculating in Global Studies and Diplomacy, the College is providing an admission path through the Al-Quds Bard Academy program. AQB Academy is a one-year English language preparatory program. In parallel, the College is also offering the Pylon’s track as another path for admission for those whose English is not yet strong enough for AQB’s core division courses. Pylon students are AQB undergraduate students who divide their time in their first year between Intensive English courses and elective courses.

The program aims to offer an elaborated and academically innovative program curriculum that will take into consideration several outcomes. The teaching pedagogies of the program will be student-centered with inclusive, interactive and interdisciplinary approaches requiring continuous student’s engagement. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be able to:

Identify foundational knowledge in several disciplines (political science, economics, international relations, public international law and human rights) which enables engaging in interdisciplinary approaches to Global Studies and diplomacy
Recognize the foundations of Palestinian history, politics, and narrative
Recognize how the different sub-disciplines relate to one another, and acquire the critical thinking skills to reflect upon knowledge and its production from several disciplines
Aware of the roles of diplomacy and their importance in international and global affairs
Explain diplomatic protocol and its usage
Intellectual skills:
Address global and diplomatic issues from an interdisciplinary approach.
Discuss global issues and political resolutions that include multilateral interests on both the regional and international levels
