The President of Harvard University Visits Al-Quds Bard College
Abu Dis - Tuesday 16th, 2023, as the first visit of its kind by a Harvard President to a Palestinian University, the 29th President of Harvard University, Lawrence Bacow, visited Al-Quds University (AQU) to strengthen the relationship between the two universities. During his visit, Bacow met with AQU officials to discuss the importance of fostering academic partnerships across borders, especially during these challenging times.
President Bacow's visit extended to the AQB, where he met with the Dean, Dr. Daniel Terris, who studied at Harvard. The two engaged in a productive dialogue on academic cooperation between the two institutions. President Bacow's visit to AQB was also a unique opportunity for him to explore its many facilities of Al-Quds Bard College (AQB) such as the Molecular Genetics Labs where he met some of the students and faculty, who expressed their enthusiasm about collaborating with Harvard on future research and educational projects.
AQU President, Dr. Imad Abu Kishek, expressed his appreciation for President Bacow's visit and stressed the importance of academic partnerships in promoting knowledge and understanding across cultures. "We are honored to welcome President Bacow to our university and grateful for his interest in our work," Dr. Abu Kishek said. "We hope that this visit will strengthen our relationship with Harvard and lead to future collaborations that benefit our students, faculty, and communities."
