Al-Quds Bard College Faculty Members Participate in Al-Quds University Council 28th Meeting in Turkey
Istanbul - Turkey, duringAl-Quds University Council 28th Meeting, "Empowering and Developing Jerusalemite Community" and under the auspices of Al-Quds President Prof. Dr. Imad Abu Kashak, Al-Quds Bard College faculty members participated in the meeting at different panels. The Dean of AQB, Dr. Daniel. Terris, Program Manager of Al-Quds Bard in New York, Mrs. Rana Hajaj, and the Head of Natural Science Division Prof. Mahmoud Khalid represented the College.
Also, Dr. Sameh Hallak, AQB Assistant Vice President for Finance and Administration, and Assistant Professor in the Economics Program, and Dr. Ayman Khalifa, Director of the Graduate Program in Teaching Methods (MAT), participated in a joint paper entitled,“Jerusalem Women Participation in Labour Market: Economic and Cultural Challenges,”which highlighted the challenges and the hurdles that the Jerusalemite women face, impeding them from working in the labour market.
Prof. of Political Science, Dr. Amna Badran, also participated in a paper entitled,Closed Stores in the Old City of Jerusalem: Reasons, Challenges, and Ways to Restating them. The research paper addressed the phenomenon of closed shops in the Old City of Jerusalem. Also, the paper identified the reasons for their closure and the challenges that hinder their reopening, and making practical recommendations; to reopen them according to a Palestinian vision of the capital city.
