Full-time and part-time openings for undergraduate Core Division faculty

 
AQB has full-time and part-time openings beginning in the fall 2016 semester, renewable contingent upon successful review and funding, to teach in the Core Division and coordinate the Writing Center. We seek faculty whose teaching methods are student-centered, involving students in active discussion and group tasks to develop their reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills in English. The chosen candidate must be prepared to teach Intensive English and English Composition, which require teaching students close reading, analytical, and writing skills and the ability to compose scholarly papers. S/he will also work closely with a small team of writing tutors, training and supporting them. S/he must also be willing to be engaged in curriculum design as well as collaboration with other faculty members in the Core curriculum. Applicants must also be willing to invest time in teaching, grading drafts of papers, and meeting privately with students in office hours to advise their progress. A master’s degree is required and teaching experience is an asset, preferably in a university or ESL environment.
 
Required Qualifications:

  • MA or PhD
  • College-level teaching experience (ESL training preferred but not mandatory)
  • Enthusiasm for the mission of the College to provide student-centered teaching, foster critical thinking, and incorporate writing into every class
  • Fluent written and spoken English (native preferred)
